Liz Jonas was born and raised in Berkeley and she began practicing at Funky Door in 2005. She loves the diverse array of people that are drawn to Bikram’s beginning yoga class and the endless possibilities for healing, personal transformation and happiness that it provides them. • Instructor:

    Riva Huang

I am from Taiwan and started practicing Bikram yoga in 2005 when I went to graduate school in San Jose, California. At first, I was simply interested in the yoga postures and enjoying the great feeling after each class. I thought I was going to get bored because the postures are the same each time, but I never did. I realize even though the postures are the same, my mind and body condition is never exactly the same, so every class is different and is always challenging in different ways. Practicing Bikram yoga helps me stay healthy physically and mentally. I graduated from teacher training in Spring 2009. I am honored to teach Bikram yoga and be a part of my students’ practice, which is a process that often leads to amazing transformations and miracles. I believe everyone would benefit from practicing Bikram yoga. Outside of the yoga room, I am a registered dietitian.

  • Instructor:

    Lindsay Paige

Lindsay started her yoga journey in early 2008 seeking to balance the physical and energetic stress of a busy therapeutic massage and bodywork practice. After graduating teacher training in fall of 2008, she taught and practiced in Chicago until landing in the Bay in 2013. Lindsay believes everyone can greatly benefit from the transformation healing power of the yoga and is grateful to have the opportunity for sharing the practice at FDYB.

  • Instructor:

    Sarah Dunn

I have been teaching Bikram Yoga since 2010 and love helping people improve themselves in the hot room and out! When I'm not on the podium you can find me being a mother to my young son and continuing to help women improve their posture as a professional bra fitter. Taking yoga and progress one step at a time, you'd be amazed at what you are capable of. My baby boy taught me that yes, you have to learn to crawl before you learn to walk; but you have to master Cobra pose before you can crawl!

  • Instructor:

    Lea Zemmour

Léa fell in love with Bikram Yoga in Paris in 2009. After completing Teacher Training in 2012, she taught at Yoga Bikram Paris, France. A recent California transplant, Léa lives to teach and practice Bikram Yoga every day!

  • Instructor:

    Kelvin Fencil

Like many others, Bikram Yoga found Kelvin, and not the other way around. With a history of bad knees, once he learned that Bikram was the only exercise that could love him back, as much as he loved it, he was hooked. Kelvin became a teacher to further his understanding of the yoga as well as share with others its power to open the mind and heal the body.

  • Instructor:

    Betty Lan

Betty was introduced to Bikram yoga in January 2010. The long term benefits of Bikram yoga far exceeded what she anticipated. Having a regular practice not only helped to heal her old running injuries but has also helped her to feel more balanced mentally and emotionally. She no longer suffers from debilitating panic attacks, and she now effectively manages stress and anxiety naturally without prescription medication. In Fall of 2013, Betty finally fulfilled her dream to become a certified Bikram yoga instructor so she could share this wonderful yoga and help other people heal their mind and body.

  • Instructor:

    Linea Ross

Linea has recently relocated to America and is delighted to wash up in the East Bay. Originally from South Africa, after completing a degree at the University of Cape Town, she went nomadic, living and working in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Linea began practicing Bikram Yoga in London, UK in 2008 in an attempt to alleviate the stress of a demanding job in Adult Education and as a complement to competing in Triathlon and Open Water Swimming races. Over time, Linea has had to acknowledge and give credit to the Bikram Yoga series for the positive effects that it has had on every aspect of her life, believing so much in this powerful yoga therapy that she wanted to share it with others. Linea attended Bikram Teacher Training in Spring 2012 and hopes to be a conduit for others to reach for better health, mental clarity and emotional stability and hopefully to also have a little fun with her along the way on this wonderful journey.
